We are so excited to be hiring our very first trainee social media assistant.
This opportunity to made possible because of the generous support of Creative Access and Rough Assembly. This means we’re part of a positive action scheme, so we’ll only be accepting applications from:
- 18-30 year olds
- Who are from a Black, Asian or Minority Ethnic background, or someone with a disadvantaged socio-economic background,* or both.
We need a hand with promoting our content in the most exciting ways possible on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Is social media your second language? Then this might be the job for you.
You’ll be working with an editorial team for three days a week, helping to make our social media posts soar. Creative, innovative ideas and imaginative new ways of getting the word out about our work are very much encouraged.
You’ll get training in all the tools you need to make eye-catching imagery, scribe snappy copy, and bring them all together in to build the best social media strategy we can dream up. All we need from you is energy, commitment and ideas.

As part of this programme you will have the opportunity to take part in Creative Access support programme of training, networking and support for candidates entering the creative industries.
* you can tell if you fit this criteria by thinking about the type of school you attended at age 11-16, whether you got free school meals, if you are or were a carer, if your parents went to uni, what your parents did when you were 14, and what your housing situation was like when you were aged 11–16.
Support more young people to have their voices heard
Rife is Watershed‘s online magazine created for young people, by young people.
We offer paid internships and publish work by young writers, photographers, illustrators, and filmmakers from all sorts of backgrounds, helping them get into creative careers. Rife has reached over 8,000 young people through our workshops, over 220 young people have made stuff for Rife on topics ranging from mental health to identity to baked beans, and last year, over 200,000 people visited our website.
In these complex and uncertain times hearing from and supporting young people who are advocating for social change and contributing fresh perspectives has never been so important.
Through supporting Rife you can ensure that this important work continues and that more young people have their voices heard.
