Hello! Rife Magazine ceased publishing new work in July 2022.

We've kept the magazine online as an archive and hope you'll still continue to enjoy all of its contributions from the last 8 years.

Pick of the Week: Juicy Blitz

Rife Guide Picks of the Week

Find out what’s on the Rife Guide this week, including two drop-in sessions at Juicy Blitz Bar.

Sometimes you just have one of those weeks.

Sometimes you just have one of those weeks. The weekend abruptly comes to an end and before you know it the sound of your alarm is screeching on a Monday morning. You drag yourself from beneath the covers, look at the grey sky outside and decide just how many jumpers to wrap up in. Off you plod to school or college and by the end of the day it’s suddenly dark again, and you’re exhausted

But what sort of life is this? It’s no way to spend the week. You need to be refreshed, revitalised and rewoken. Well, head over to Juicy Blitz, a ‘get involved’ project based at a juice and smoothie bar on the Lawrence Weston estate, North Bristol. The project has been going strong since 2002 and is run and managed by Bristol based-organisation, Bread Youth Project.

Projects have been designed and created by young people, for young people. Anyone aged 11- 21 is welcome to come along. And here’s the best bit. There are drop in sessions on both Tuesday and Thursday that you can come along to.

Juicy Blitz Drop Ins are packed with fun and fresh activities to get you out of that brain fog. You can just hang out with mates or chill with new ones; there’s no pressure to do anything more. Access the computers and internet, and get involved with arts and craft activities.

There are hot chocolates and cheese toasties to munch on Tuesday night and on Thursday it turns a bit healthier. But how could you resist making a yummy smoothie? They take five minutes to make, are unbelievably good for you and incredibly delicious… what’s not to love. And if you’re feeling a bit blue, or just want to have a chat there will always be a team of youth workers on hand that can offer support and advice.

Come along to Juicy Blitz every Tuesday and Thursday from 5pm-7.30pm at The Juice and Smoothie Bar. The sessions are free, and there’s no need to book- just drop in when you need a chilled night, something fun to do or a bit of help and advice. Full details of the session can be found here, on Rife Guide

Are you heading to Juicy Blitz this week? Maybe you have another weekday plan we’ll be jealous of? Show us what you’re up to on Facebook or Twitter, or tag us in a photo on Instagram.
