Hello! Rife Magazine ceased publishing new work in July 2022.

We've kept the magazine online as an archive and hope you'll still continue to enjoy all of its contributions from the last 8 years.

Molly headed to Temple Records’ secret pop-up gig in Bristol city centre to find out more about what they’re currently up to.

Temple Records is a youth-led record label based at The Station youth club in the centre of Bristol. It takes on young Bristol artists to give them the music industry experience and contacts. The label has been running for just over a year now and has many young local artists signed up across all genres of music across the city.

The perks of Temple Records is the opportunities given to the performers. From free rehearsal spaces to getting into festivals, Temple Records is a record label to support upcoming talent.

Temple Records also runs series of free workshops and masterclasses to develop musical skills and allows artists to talk and learn from industry professionals. And of course, being part of a record label means professional studio time. It’s not all about the music either, the artists also have the resource of professional photographers and film makers to bring visuals to their music.

Joss Morgan-Giles, a  singer song writer has recently released his new single ‘Walking’ on the label accompanied by a music video and the song is also available for download on iTunes and Spotify.

the label are always looking for new recruits

The most recent gig for the label was held at the eerie old courts next to the old fire station in central Bristol. The courtroom was jam-packed with young people there to watch artists bring the abandoned building back to life. From pianist Jeremy Howard to metal band Into The Shade, every artist put such energy into their performances that you would forget how young some of them are. I find the artists very inspirational and encouraging of other young artists to join the label, which the label are always looking for new recruits.

I would recommend any young artists to get on board with Temple Records to get a valuable experience in the music industry.
